Script Review and Project Development

A successful documentary project requires continuous evaluation and refinement before entering full-scale production. Even the strongest ideas benefit from professional review, constructive feedback, and systematic development.
This stage focuses on the critical process of reviewing documentary scripts, evaluating project concepts, and preparing productions for implementation. Participants will learn how professional filmmakers assess narrative structure, research quality, visual storytelling strategies, and production feasibility before filming begins.
Through guided analysis and project consultations, participants will refine their documentary treatments, scripts, production plans, and storytelling approaches. The stage encourages critical thinking and creative problem-solving while helping participants identify strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement within their projects.
Particular emphasis is placed on project readiness, ensuring that documentary concepts are supported by sufficient research, realistic production planning, and clear narrative objectives. Participants will also learn how to present their projects professionally and receive constructive feedback from peers and instructors.
By the end of this stage, participants will have a more refined, production-ready documentary project that serves as the foundation for the final stages of the diploma.
